Regular Worship on Sunday except when there is a fifth Sunday in the month. Service times: 9:30 am (followed by coffee in the hall). Friday morning we hold a prayer meeting at 10 am.

East Boldon was originally dedicated as a congregational church in 1863 and became a URC in 1972.

The church is situated on the main road between Newcastle and Sunderland as it passes through East Boldon.


Membership is 25; children (under 5 years) 4.


We use the Good News Bible, Rejoice and Sing and Mission Praise.


Church activities:


We have a bible study group and a fellowship group.

The church supports an orphanage in Malawi and participates in Christian Aid week.  We have ecumenical links with Boldon Churches Together.

The church hall is in regular use by many community groups, including toddlers.

News:

Coffee morning second Saturday in the month. Special Coffee morning 12th September in aid of our charity for the year – Safewater trust. We hope to have a speaker – Gill Griffith and a demonstration of the filter.

Special annual services.

Second Sunday in December Annual Toy service at 9.30 a.m. – Gifts will be forwarded to families who are struggling .

Sunday before Christmas day Carol Service in the Church at 6.00 p.m. with coffee and mince pies in the hall later.

 25th December Christmas Day service at 10.00 a.m.

Our aims are to fulfil our mission statement to the best of our ability, embracing the teaching of Jesus, serving our community, striving to understand changes therein and making every effort to adapt to its needs.

Our hopes and dreams are to continue to spread the word of God and hopefully to increase our worshipping congregation.
