St Bede Open Day
On the afternoon of Sunday, 20th May, St Bede's United Reformed Church in Sorley Street held an open day to celebrate the refurbishment of the building.
The hall, kitchen and two meeting rooms have been completely revamped and redecorated with a view to more community use.
The event was graced by a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of Sunderland, who took a great interest in the activities taking place within the building (see the dedicated St Bede page for further details) and were splendidly entertained, as we all were, by an exhibition from some of the pupils of the dance class which meets in the hall on Saturdays.
St Bede's now looks forward to participating in the Sorley Street party celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 5th June.
